At the close of 1785 there were 1086 people, in seven congregations, in the Wachovia (the 100,000 acres the Moravian Church owned in North Carolina.)
The population of Salem, NC was 205. There were:
31 Married Couples;
1 Widower and 4 Widows;
59 Single Brothers and boys;
34 Single Sisters and girls;
24 Little Boys;
21 Little Girls.
